Education and Service
In addition to providing entertainment for the community, the MCB performs a number of educational and service functions. Among these are summer music camp scholarships for outstanding Midland County high school students, music clinics in the schools by professional soloists, demonstrations of instruments in schools, and the opportunity for talented area high school and college musicians to play in the band. This year MCB awarded five $300 summer band camp scholarships, and invited 28 seventh graders to perform in the May concert.
