Midland Concert Band Music Scholarship

Open to Midland County Public School Band Students, grades 9-11

Scholarship winners must commit to attending 75% (7) of the rehearsals to play the concert and retain their scholarship.

Rehearsals at Dow High 7:15-9:30: Thursdays, Feb 23, March 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, April 12, 19, 26. Monday, April 30, and a required rehearsal at MCFTA on Thursday, May 3, 2012.

The Spring Concert is Sunday, May 6. Report time is 1:30 @MCFTA.

Requirements for consideration for scholarship from the Midland Concert Band:

1) Please provide a recording (CD) of a sample of your performance abilities, a Solo & Ensemble piece or etude would be appropriate, without accompaniment.
2) Please tell us about your musical goals and plans for the scholarship. It may be used for lessons, music camp, or toward a new instrument. (300 words maximum)
3) A recommendation by your band director (brief comments about student’s musicianship).
