2017 Scholarship Application, High School

For 2016 – 2017, all scholarships will be in the amount of $500. Applications are to be received by February 1, 2017.

The application form may be completed, scanned and returned via email to MCB.Dir.Education@gmail.com. The director’s comments should be sent to the same email address. If electronic submissions are not possible, please feel free to send hard copy of the application and director’s comments to the address at the bottom of the application form.

Only one application submission is needed this year. All eligible submissions will be considered for the Midland Concert Band scholarship (all band instruments), The Kathy Garrett Endowed Music Scholarship (clarinet or woodwind), the Pamela J. Rowe Endowed Scholarship (flute), and the William A. Crozier for woodwinds.

Midland Concert Band Scholarships
The mission of the Midland Band Scholarship program is to encourage the instrumental band student to improve and enhance their musical experience through private lessons, attending a summer camp or toward the purchase of a new instrument. The requirements include the musical ability of the student, the completed essay describing their plans if they were to be awarded the scholarship, and the recommendation of the band director or private teacher.

The Kathy Garrett Endowed Music Scholarship
The mission of The Kathy Garrett Endowed Music Scholarship Fund is to provide an annual scholarship award to a clarinet or woodwind student to attend a camp, take private lessons, or to purchase an instrument. Selection criteria will include musical ability, participation in one or more school music groups, evidence of musical leadership, and the recommendations of private music teachers and band/orchestra directors.

The Pamela J. Rowe Endowed Music Scholarship
The mission of The Pamela J. Rowe Endowed Music Scholarship Fund is to provide an annual scholarship award to a flute student to attend a camp, take private lessons, purchase a flute, or attend college studying music with an emphasis on flute. Selection criteria will include musical ability, participation in one or more school music groups, evidence of musical leadership, and the recommendations of private music teachers and band/orchestra directors.

The William A. Crozier Memorial Scholarship
The mission of The William A. Crozier Memorial Scholarship is to provide a scholarship to a woodwind player to attend camp, take private lessons or towards the purchase of an instrument. Selection criteria will be the same as for the Midland Concert Band Scholarships.
